Complete the FAFSA to establish your eligibility for federal financial assistance – including grants, work-study, and low-interest loans.
Hot Tip: Register for a Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID (PDF) so you can quickly and easily transfer IRS data for you and your parents using IRS data retrieval.

School of Medicine students can also complete the CSS Profile to be considered for Emory-funded, need-based grant programs.
Hot Tip: Although the CSS Profile costs $25 to complete, the College Board offers fee waivers to eligible first year students. Learn whether you qualify for a College Board Fee Waiver

Once you have completed the College Board Profile application, you will receive instructions on how to submit your federal tax forms to the College Board Institutional Documentation (IDOC) Service.
Students*, parents, and non-custodial parents** (if applicable) are required to upload or email signed federal tax forms that include:
- W-2s
- 1099s
- All related schedules
- Any corporate and partnership returns that were submitted to the IRS
*Students who were not required to file a tax return for the applicable year must complete the Emory Non-Tax Filer Form (link to Forms page).
**"Non-custodial parents" includes a student’s legal (birth or adoptive) parents are divorced, separated, or never married.
HOW TO SUBMIT INTERNATIONAL TAX FORMS
International students applying for financial aid should submit their tax returns or foreign country equivalent to the College Board's Institutional Documentation Service (IDOC) before February 16.
Signed copies of tax documents must be translated to English, converted to USD, and include the currency conversion rate used.
