External scholarships are awarded through various outside organizations such as churches, parent’s employer, professional or private foundations, etc. The total financial aid that a student can receive annually, including external awards, cannot exceed the estimated cost of attendance at Emory University.
Emory University honors external scholarships provided the scholarship is made payable to Emory University and the following information is submitted to the Office of Financial Aid:
- Student Name
- Emory Student ID
- Amount of Scholarship
- Semester(s) to Receive Scholarship
- Name of Scholarship
- Contact Person Email and Phone Number
- Scholarship Billing Address
- List of any Scholarship Requirements or Stipulations
Scholarships paid directly to the student or payable jointly to the student and Emory University will be applied to the student account upon receipt and collection of required endorsement as needed. Checks need to be sent to the appropriate campus (Emory University or Oxford College), based upon the location of the students anticipated enrollment. Checks made payable to the university and the student may result in processing delays due to the required collection of the student endorsement.
