Student Employment

Employment allows students to gain valuable work experience, and it’s a practical way to contribute to the cost of education. The types of positions available for students are classified as either Federal Work-Study (FWS) program employment or non-FWS part-time employment.

Federal Work-Study Program

The Federal Work-Study (FWS) program is a part-time employment program for students contingent upon availability of federal funds. Eligibility is based on the federal methodology using the information provided on the FAFSA. When applying for financial aid, you will automatically be considered for Federal Work-Study eligibility. If you are deemed eligible, a Federal Work-Study award will be included in your financial aid package as shown in OPUS. The amount of your award is the maximum you can earn for the academic year.

Part-Time Employment

Information regarding part-time employment opportunities, including local and on-campus, may be found in a number of different locations on campus. One central hub for information for currently enrolled undergraduate students, graduate students from Laney Graduate School and Candler School of Theology is the Emory Career Center. Students enrolled in other Emory University schools should inquire directly with their respective schools student services office.
