Emory Advantage

Emory University gives students the opportunity to graduate debt-free as part of the university’s commitment to make an Emory education accessible to all qualified students regardless of their financial resources. Through Emory Advantage, undergraduate students will be offered institutional grants to replace need-based loans as part of their financial aid packages. Beginning with the 2022-23 academic year, this program will be available to all undergraduate students with a demonstrated financial need, regardless of income level.

Who Is Eligible?

There is no separate application for the expanded Emory Advantage loan replacement grant. All students who apply for institutional need-based financial aid will be considered for this program. Continuing Emory students must submit an application for financial aid each year to assess current eligibility. See the Apply for Financial Aid page for details.

Emory Advantage is available to eligible undergraduate dependent students at Emory University studying in Emory College, Oxford College, Goizueta Business School, and Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing. This program is available to students earning their first undergraduate degree; students earning a second undergraduate degree are not eligible to receive aid through this program.

If you meet the eligibility criteria for the Emory Advantage program, your financial aid package will include Federal Work-Study. A work component is considered part of the student's self-help expectation.
