Renew Your FAFSA Form

All you need to do to renew your financial aid application materials after your first year is to renew your FAFSA form. You are able to renew your FAFSA form beginning on October 1, 2022. The FAFSA is required to determine eligibility for federal and state student aid.

You will have fewer questions to answer for 2023-2024 because the FAFSA form will already contain some of the information you gave on the 2022-2023 FAFSA. Updates will be needed only for the information that has changed from the prior year.

Start renewing your FAFSA

Emory's FAFSA Code: 001564

You can use IRS data retrieval to transfer tax return information directly to the FAFSA. To transfer data and electronically sign your FAFSA application, register for a Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID. The Department of Education will process your application in three to five days, provided you (and your parents', if applicable) have provided electronic signatures using your FSA ID.

For more information on completing the FAFSA, please see the Federal Student Aid website

In October or November 2022, all renewal eligible FAFSA applicants will receive 2023-2024 Renewal FAFSA reminder notices from the Department of Education:

  • Students with a valid email address will receive email reminders.
  • Students without a valid email address will receive reminder letters.

If you are a returning student and did not file a 2022-2023 FAFSA, you will not receive a reminder notice. You must submit the 2023-2024 FAFSA to be considered for financial aid.
